Why Guam’s hotel Kids Clubs have become a draw for Asian families
Guam's hotel Kids Clubs offer English immersion and childcare, creating a compelling reason for families to return to the Pacific island.

Guam flights from Asia are rarely quiet. Children's laughter mixes with animated chatter as families head to the Pacific island, long a favourite for its calm waters and family-friendly resorts. But beyond the beaches and pools, another attraction keeps parents booking return trips: the "Kids Clubs" embedded in major hotels and resorts.
These programmes serve a dual purpose. While parents enjoy a few uninterrupted hours, children immerse themselves in English with native speakers—a practical appeal that extends the destination's value for families seeking both relaxation and learning.
More than childcare
Chardonnay Naone, who runs children's programmes at Pacific Islands Club (PIC) Guam after working as a preschool teacher in Hawaii, says repeat visits are common. "We have so many kids who come back and remember their teachers," she notes. On a single visit, two children returned to PIC's Kids Club for their second year running.
PIC operates a Kids Club for ages 4 to 12 and a separate Little Kids Club for toddlers, with daily activities from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The resort also runs a dedicated "Let's Speak English" programme that pairs children with staff around the property to practise conversation in a natural setting. "Kids Club is one of the reasons families come back to PIC," Naone says, "and encouraging them to return is my personal goal."
Building lasting bonds
The relationships children form with teachers create genuine incentives for families to return. Donna Quichocho, a Kids Club teacher at Lotte Hotel Guam, recounts one child who visited the club daily during a ten-day stay. "Some kids really connect with us. They make paper hearts for us, and I still have mine on my desk," she says.
Other major resorts have followed suit. Dusit Thani Guam Resort, Crowne Plaza Resort Guam and Lotte Hotel Guam all offer children's programmes, with Lotte providing complimentary daily English classes for ages 5 to 11. For many visiting children, the Kids Club becomes the trip's highlight—and for parents, it becomes reason enough to book another vacation on the island.
