Who we are

The Asia Spotlight is an English-language magazine of power, culture and people — the figures and forces shaping Asia. Published from Singapore, we report on the region’s decision-makers, founders, artists and institutions for readers around the world.

We are a title of the Asia Press Centre Group, a Singapore-headquartered media network of some forty English-language publications covering Asia across ten sectors — from finance and geopolitics to technology, travel and the arts.

Why we exist

Decisions made across Asia’s boardrooms, ministries and studios increasingly set the terms for everyone else. Yet much of the world still encounters Asia episodically — a headline when markets move, a profile when a film wins abroad. The Asia Spotlight exists to keep Asia in the world’s spotlight: continuously, knowledgeably, and in the language the world reads.

What we publish

Our reporting is organised into seven sections: People and Power, Business, Technology, Society, Culture and Arts, Sport and Lifestyle. Around them sit four signature formats:

  • The Wire — the day’s essential headlines from across the region, updated daily.
  • The Big Read — longform reporting and analysis that goes beneath the news.
  • Signature Franchises — recurring interview and profile series on the people moving Asia.
  • The Brief — our weekday morning email: the people and forces shaping Asia, in five minutes.

Who reads us

The Asia Spotlight is written for people with decisions to make: investors and senior executives with interests in the region; leaders in culture and the arts; policymakers and professionals who need to understand Asia beyond the headlines.

How we are run
