The National have announced their first live performance in over a year. The Brooklyn rock band will perform a special one-off show as part of the AB100 festival in San Sebastián on 18 October, billed as "The National And Friends."

The event at Kursaal Donostia will feature the band alongside Kevin Morby, Ben Howard, Jon Hopkins, Mina Tindle, Ragnar Kjartansson, Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry, Anaïs Mitchell and further artists still to be confirmed. According to NME, tickets go on sale on 3 August at 11:30 CEST (10:30 BST).

The National last released two albums in 2023: The First Two Pages Of Frankenstein and Laugh Track. Frontman Matt Berninger has kept busy in the interim, releasing his second solo album, Get Sunk, in 2025. Meanwhile, bandmate Aaron Dessner has produced records for Mumford & Sons, Gracie Abrams, Florence + The Machine and Brandi Carlile.
