Seo Jang-hoon dominates Korea's counselling TV landscape, appearing on six shows weekly with logic, directness, and hard-won insight.

Seo Jang-hoon is now the face of Korea's counselling entertainment boom. The former NBA-calibre centre, who stands 207 centimetres tall, appears across five active shows—Ask Anything Club (KBS Joy, Mondays), Dating War (JTBC, Tuesdays), Divorce Deliberation Camp (JTBC, Thursdays), My Ugly Duckling (SBS, Sundays), and The Neighbour Next Door Millionaire (EBS, Wednesdays)—plus Saturday's Know Bros (JTBC). That's six broadcast days a week, a schedule that rivals even peak-era Yoo Jae-suk or Kang Ho-dong.

What sets Seo apart is not charisma but clarity. Unlike Kang Ho-dong's commanding presence or Yoo Jae-suk's warmth, Seo operates through observation and logic. He listens deeply, then delivers blunt truths wrapped in genuine concern. On Dating War, whilst co-host Lee Hyo-ri reaches for emotional connection, Seo cuts straight to rationality. When a female guest recently tried to reframe infidelity as love, he said: "Don't dress immoral behaviour in the language of affection." Viewers rewarded him with applause.

Ask Anything Club, which premiered in March 2019 after a February pilot, became the blueprint. Hosted with Lee Su-geun, the show has Seo dress in outlandish costumes whilst dispensing advice on relationships, family conflict, and even suicidal ideation—all tackled with disarming calm. His real skill lies in reading situations others miss. Like a point guard in his playing days, he scans the whole floor, isolates the core problem, and passes the solution. He's not there to impress; he's there to help.

Incoming shows—including Inheritance Eve (tvN Story, January 2027)—will keep adding layers to his consulting empire. For an anxious audience in search of honest answers, Seo has become the tall, plain-spoken figure everyone wishes they could turn to.
