Lee Min Jung and Kim Ji Suk Step Into Divorce Drama Roles at First Script Reading

The cast of upcoming Korean drama "OK, Let's Get Divorced" gathered for their first script reading, showcasing the emotional range required for a story centred on a marriage dissolution.

The drama follows a married couple who operate a wedding dress shop as they navigate the decision to end their exhausting relationship. According to Soompi, the script reading brought together director Joo Sung Woo, writer Hwang Ji Eon, and a six-person cast including Lee Min Jung, Kim Ji Suk, Lee Hyun Jin, Lee Jini, Jung Eui Jae, and Wang Bit Na.

Lee Min Jung takes the lead role as Baek Mi Young, the CEO of G&White, the couple's wedding dress business. The production team noted that she portrayed a woman caught between her domestic obligations and her identity as a workaholic, delivering an emotionally charged line — "Let's get divorced" — that signals the weight of her character's internal conflict. At the reading, she commented, "I hope you'll show lots of love for this relatable drama that will make you laugh and cry."

Kim Ji Suk plays Ji Won Ho, Baek Mi Young's husband and the co-CEO of G&White. The actor brought his characteristic warmth to the role of a talented designer, balancing playful moments with the complexity of a marriage in crisis. He told the production team, "Please pay close attention to the journey of why this couple decided to get divorced and what happened between them."

The supporting cast rounds out the ensemble. Lee Hyun Jin portrays Calvin, Baek Mi Young's ex-boyfriend, blending sharp charisma with tenderness. Lee Jini, playing Gen Z photographer Ahn Hee Joo, adds contemporary energy as a bold and outspoken character. Jung Eui Jae and Wang Bit Na complete the cast as Ji Won Ho's junior colleague Kang Kyung Tae and G&White's manager Song Ah Ri respectively.

"OK, Let's Get Divorced" is set to premiere on 19 August at 11 p.m. KST.
