Jennie headlined Lollapalooza Chicago as the festival's first female K-pop headliner, performing an 18-song set including an unreleased track.
Jennie became the first female K-pop artist to headline Lollapalooza Chicago, closing the festival's main Bud Light stage on Saturday (U.S. time) with a roughly one-hour performance, according to her agency OA Entertainment.
The set spanned 18 songs and included the first live performance of her latest single, "Less than a Lover," which dropped on 24 July. The centrepiece moment came when Jennie debuted an unreleased track for the first time, energising the crowd as fans sang along to familiar material.
The headlining slot represents a significant milestone for Asian representation at the Chicago fixture. The Bud Light stage has previously hosted global acts including The Cure, Coldplay and The Weeknd. This year's festival also featured headliners such as Charli xcx, Lorde and Olivia Dean, placing Jennie among the festival's top-billed names.
Jennie's Lollapalooza appearance marks a landmark moment in K-pop's international trajectory. Major U.S. festivals have historically favoured Western pop and rock acts in headline slots, making the booking a notable shift in how American promoters programme around global pop talent.
