Hybe has announced the formation of Tuide, a seven-member girl group set to make its official debut on 24 August under ABD, a newly established label within the K-pop conglomerate.

The group comprises Seohee, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Seah and Yi Hani, with members ranging in age from those born in 2006 to 2011. According to the agency, the line-up draws from diverse cultural backgrounds spanning South Korea, the United States, Britain and Japan, a deliberate approach to creating what Hybe describes as "multinational synergy."

Tuide's name derives from the phrase "Tune the Tide," reflecting the group's stated aim to harmonise diverse musical influences and forge a unified sound. The debut EP, titled Tune & Play, follows this thematic direction, with the title encapsulating the group's vision to blend different musical languages and emphasise enjoyment in the creative process, according to ABD.

The project is helmed by Han Sung-soo, a veteran K-pop producer whose credits include Seventeen, After School, Iz*one and Tws. His involvement signals Hybe's investment in the group's long-term trajectory within the competitive girl group landscape.

Ahead of the official debut, Tuide held preview events in Seoul over two days, performing all tracks from the forthcoming album to a selected audience. This approach mirrors standard K-pop pre-release strategy, allowing the agency to gauge initial reception and build anticipation among dedicated fans before the public launch.

The debut arrives as Hybe continues to expand its roster beyond its flagship act BTS. ABD represents the company's latest attempt to develop new talent under a distinct label identity, a structure that has become common practice among major K-pop agencies seeking to segment their artist portfolios.
