Corrections

We aim to be accurate. When we are not, we correct the record — promptly, visibly and without fuss.

How corrections work

• Material errors — errors of fact that affect the meaning of a story — are corrected in the article, with a correction note recording what was wrong and when it was fixed.
• Minor errors — typographical slips, misspellings, formatting faults that do not change meaning — are fixed without a note.
• Updates — when a story develops after publication, we may update it and mark it as updated. An update is not a correction.

We do not quietly rewrite published journalism. If a story changes in a way that matters, the change is recorded on the page.

Requesting a correction

If you believe we have published something inaccurate, write to corrections@theasiaspotlight.com with the article link, the passage in question and the basis for the correction. A senior editor reviews every request; requests concerning material errors are acknowledged and answered.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the Asia Press Centre Group, where complaints are treated as governance matters and reviewed independently of this newsroom.
