TWICE’s Jeongyeon signs with Varo Entertainment to pursue acting career
Jeongyeon departs JYP Entertainment after 11 years to sign with Varo Entertainment and pursue acting, whilst continuing with TWICE.

Jeongyeon has left JYP Entertainment to sign with Varo Entertainment, marking a significant shift in her career trajectory after more than a decade with the agency that debuted her as a member of TWICE in 2015. According to Yonhap News Agency, the move was confirmed on Monday, 10 August.
Varo Entertainment, which represents actor Gong Seung-yeon (Jeongyeon's older sister), issued a statement welcoming the K-pop artist. "We are truly delighted to form a valuable relationship with Yoo Jeong-yeon, who possesses a diverse range of charms and infinite potential," the agency said.
Jeongyeon plans to pursue acting roles under her new agency whilst remaining active with TWICE, one of the most successful girl groups in K-pop. In a message posted on social media, she addressed the transition, acknowledging the difficulty of leaving a familiar environment. She credited her fellow TWICE members and the group's fanbase, Once, with giving her the courage to make the change.
"Although I am moving to a new home and beginning a new challenge, I will continue to protect TWICE, which is at the very heart of who I am," she wrote. "Standing before Once as a member of TWICE will always be my first priority."
The move reflects a broader trend among established K-pop idols seeking to expand into acting and other entertainment sectors. By signing with Varo, Jeongyeon joins a boutique agency focused on actor representation, positioning herself for a more diversified career whilst maintaining her commitment to group activities. Her departure from JYP after 11 years concludes one of K-pop's longest artist-agency relationships, though TWICE's work together remains unaffected.
