The Beatles release expanded Rubber Soul reissue with unreleased Lennon demo

The Beatles have announced an expanded reissue of their landmark 1965 album Rubber Soul, arriving on 2 October via UMG and Apple Corps Ltd. The release includes a previously unreleased John Lennon demo titled 'Little Girl', alongside newly remixed versions of the original tracklist.

The reissue comes in multiple formats, ranging from a 14-track Standard Edition to a 68-track Super Deluxe box-set. All editions feature stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes created by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell, sourced directly from the original four-track master tapes using de-mixing technology developed at Peter Jackson's WingNut Films Productions Ltd. The Super Deluxe editions also include the original mono master, the Capitol US version, and an 88-page hardbound book with a new introduction by Paul McCartney and a foreword compiled from Lennon's own words.

Recorded over four weeks in October and November 1965, Rubber Soul marked a creative turning point for the band, arriving shortly after their record-breaking performance at New York's Shea Stadium. The album's original tracklist features enduring favourites including 'Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)', 'In My Life', and 'Michelle'. The reissue also includes the contemporary double A-side single 'Day Tripper / We Can Work It Out' and a selection of previously unreleased session recordings and home demos that offer insight into the band's creative process.
